What you really reflect

What do you see when you look in the mirror?
How would you describe your reflection?

If you're seeing lumps of misshapen sagging flesh when you look in the mirror, the long-term solution is to use a different mirror.  Your physiognomy doesn't truly define you. Your character does.

The verb "to reflect" includes the definition "to think, to ponder."  When we reflect on a topic we consider it deeply and reverently.  We deserve to consider ourselves the same way, not just according to the shallow image offered by a material mirror.

The poignant video below puts true shape into proper perspective.

If you want to see what you what you're really like, look at yourself through the eyes of those who love you best.  You'll find out you shine with a beauty that never fades, but gets better with each passing day.

Not just a fantasy anymore

At long last, our first Fantasy Fitness Instructors training has been completed. And word is, all survived!  It was a beautiful session as sirens from different parts of the country came together via videochat to earn their certification as Genie Belly Bliss instructors.

Congratulations to:

The next 3 Fantasy Fitness trainings will be held in October & November, 2014:
  • Bollywood Blast - yep, you guessed it, jubilant dance like in the popular Bollywood movies
  • Fathoms Deep - a water workout for Mermaids & Naiads, meaning with mertail and without
  • Island Drums - Polynesian dance in all its intoxicating forms

Certified Fresh!

Our first class of salonnieres has survived training and they are now ready to take their regions by storm. Here's what some of them had to say about the experience:

"It was amazing to finally put faces and voices to names on the screen. It was tons of fun too, chatting about everything Siren. I learned a lot about the Siren School programs like Plunder, the Salons, and we even touched on the Fantasy Fitness courses too. I HIGHLY recommend the training. It is invaluable." —Kimberley Thomson Morris, certified salonniere of the Intrepid Ladies Adventure Club and Tea Society - Hollister, CA

"Most people think of training sessions as mundane or grueling, but I am here to tell you the training for Siren School Salonnieres is not at all your average class session! It is fun, informative, relaxed and inspiring. Joy Siren comes through in video chat just like she does in her posts, being that she is vibrant, sparkling, and full of life and light. More light is shed upon Siren School in this training and what it entails to be a Salonniere and have a chapter in your own town.So come on and be a Salonniere and spread the Joy!" —Sanndi Thompson, certified salonniere of the Bohemian Belles - Fayetteville, GA

"My first piece of advice, if you need somebody else to help you set up your video chat, don't wait an hour before time for it to start, to find out that they hadn't done it yet. Other than that, it was fun, interesting and so exciting and entertaining to see and hear people that I've only chatted with through facebook. I enjoyed hearing everyone's thoughts on the different Siren aspects, and learning more about the different Siren School programs, such as the Siren Soirees and Fantasy Fitness. I would SERIOUSLY recommend reading the guide that Joy provides for us. Trust me, you'll want to do this! There are questions she asks, and you'll want to have the answers beforehand, as she will catch you off guard if you don't! I can't wait for the next one! To the future Salonniere Trainees, Good luck and more importantly, HAVE FUN!" —Bonnie Ramsburg, certified salonniere of Bonnie's Lasses - Akron, OH

Adventure comes to NorCal

Newly certified salonniere Kimberley Thomson Morris shares a wee bit about her irresistible new salon:

"Things are slowly starting to happen here at the Intrepid Ladies Adventure Club and Tea Society. Since we have gained full Salon status, I have been furiously planning amazing adventures and wondrous teas for the enjoyment of our members and their guests. Our first gathering will be a Witch's Tea on October 18, 2014. I am still looking for the perfect place in which to hold it. Weather permitting, it might even be outdoors. On November 8, 2014, the Audacious Afternoon Tea will be held at the Quail and Thistle Tea House in Capitola, CA. It is a quaint little Victorian house that has been transformed into an exquisite tea shoppe. Weather permitting, it will be held on their patio, which is lovely. December will find us at the Great Dicken's Christmas Faire on the 6th. Costumes are encouraged, but hardly necessary. There is shopping, roaming street entertainers, and a wonderful tea room. No need to worry about the weather. The San Francisco Cow Palace is transformed in to Victorian London, so it is entirely indoors.

As for next year, there will be hikes, and beach trips, and lunch in the city, and...well, you get the idea. There will be at least one event every month. I can not wait to meet you all. Please do join me on some adventures!"

Georgia gets a peachy new Siren School Salon

Fayetteville, GA is the lucky home of the new Bohemian Belles, the social group run by Salonniere Sanndi Thompson.  Sanndi is a professional artist whose work has been featured in La Vie Sirene magazine. She's also been Siren School's biggest and most enduring supporter. And now, she is part of the team!... or as we call it, our equipe!  Here are her own words about herself and her budding salon:
Hi I'm Sanndi. Although it is true that I am a genuine born and raised southern gal, I have however always had a wanderlust for exotic places, cultures, and adventures; thus the name Bohemian Belles. I'm an artist who paints belly dancers, mermaids, and other goddessy type images and the mystical. I am also a belly dance enthusiast myself. I enjoy writing, reading, swimming, walking, yoga, traveling, eating (yes- eating!) haha! Such are the pleasures of life! Yes? Another of my interests here lately is aromatherapy, and I have been concocting my own bath salts and room sprays and lotions and potions.

I am drawn to the mystical, paranormal, philosophical, inspirational, creative genres of life and would love for like-minded kindred souls to join me in some Siren School Soiree adventures!

Although I don't have an actual tangible gypsy caravan in real life (yet) I aim for us to "travel" and have vibrant, whimsical, serendipitous adventures, gatherings, soirees, shindigs, whatever you choose to call them! So come on and don that kooky hat with the feathers on it, or wear that fringed shawl,(you know, the one that is at the back of your closet.) Buy those jingly earrings that you've had your eye on or that toe ring, take those dance classes that you've always pondered. (Siren School has some doozies offered!)
So step through the beaded doorway with me and become more of the vibrant spirit that you are!
You can find Sanndi via her site, or Facebook page, or in-person at the events she and her salon will be hosting in Georgia.
