Dive into the mythical world of the Naiad at this aquatic getaway. Experience includes nymph lore and language, optional land or amphibious dance instruction (in water up to 10 feet deep), siren singing, and found-object-instrument playing, plus props, performance, refreshments and professional videography. (Price options with incremental discounts listed at bottom.)

The Night Before, for events held at our homebase in coastal Long Beach, CA and (7-10pm): If you are able catch a lily pad and float into town early, join us for dinner at the idyllic Shenandoah at the Arbor.
Session Pre-requisite: love of whimsy, flowers, bubbles, singing, making noise and/or ability to swim in or under water. Aquatic portion of sessions held at a private pool. Packing list: See our suggested Kaboodle Kit following the event itinerary. You may also want to bring additional practice &/or performance attire, sunscreen, optional towel, cover-up, swim cap, nose plug & goggles, evening out apparel & overnight items.
Day #1 - 9am-4pm for basic session (elective evening activities end around 10pm)
- Light Bite (8-9am): For our overnight sprites
- Morning Segment (9-11noon): Submerge yourself in water nymph lore and learn the intricacies and eccentricities of these cute and quirky creatures. You will have the option to jump into the drink to learn the basics of aquatic dance; or stay in the shallow end if you do not wish to dunk. You may also stay high & dry out of the water altogether by trying out the dance moves on-land. Includes a mid-session Sprite punch break
- Soggy Lunch Break (11am-12noon): vegetarian buffet including Naiadic-preferred ingredients such as water chestnuts, edible flowers, sunflower seeds, plus water-lily salad, candy toadstools, a buche-sans-noel....
- Underwater Basket Weaving (12noon-2pm): Don't laugh, we're serious. This is an age-old art form that yields usable results, and is a favorite pastime of the Naiad
- Afternoon Segment (2-4pm): We begin this session on land then plunge back into the pool, this time with pixie props. Our singers and musicians are invited to help hunt for and construct rustic instruments; Includes a mid-segment break
- CrafTea Time (4-5pm): Oooh and awe over flowering tea blossoms and nibble rose water scones as you get crafty, designing and creating your own kikepa (what you may think of as a sarong) using gyotaku the traditional art of Japanese water-life printing
- Evening Respite (5-7pm): Relax with a Dry Brush Massage spa treatment or some personal quiet time
- Dinner & Dip (7-10pm): For those staying with us in Long Beach through the waning hours, we will dine onsite, al fresco by fairy light, then visit La Bella Fontana de Napoli (a pretty fountain) and stroll the local canals, possibly concluding with a late night dip by the light of the moon
Day #2 - 9am-3:30pm for basic session (optional breakfast served at 8am)
- Light Sprite Bite (8-9am): For our overnight nymphs
- Morning Segment (9-11am): We will begin our morning on land with a spritely introduction to our choreography, then head to the pool to dance. As always, you may choose to participate on land, in the shallow end, or underwater. Siren singers are invited to a practice session of their own where they will learn the language and lyrics of our aqua routine's song. Musicians will test out their 'found' instruments... and blow bubbles. Think Blue Man group with water! Includes mid-morning berry smoothie break
- Garden Variety Lunch Break (11am-1pm): Today's menu includes flower soup, watercress sandwiches... and edible art... which you will learn to create using ingredients found in the garden. In this case the phrase "you can't take it with you" fully applies, but you CAN take plenty of photos, so come prepared
- Last Touches (1-2pm): Spruce up your sprite costume by embellishing wrist sashes, a swim cap or head piece for wear during tonight's performance
- Afternoon Segment (2-3:30pm): We will add our pixie props to this last pre-performance practice, fine-tuning our moves out of the water before diving back into our liquid ballroom. Singing sirens and musicians will accompany land and aquatic dancers at this practice. Includes a mid-segment break
- Sprite Transformation (3:30-6pm): Relax a bit before you get spruced up in your sprite habiliments, and prepare for your photo session. Our photographers use state-of-the-art techniques to ensure you appear on film as more than a splash of water. Professional makeup & hair ribboning available 4-5pm. Professional photography services available at 5pm
- Performance & Ceremony (6-7pm): This is your chance to make a splash. We conclude with a brief Sprite Certificate Ceremony and flowery farewell.
- Dinner (7-10pm): For those who just can't bear to leave Long Beach yet, come nibble and nosh with us in the garden setting of Cafe Piccolo
- Bayside Breakfast & Bye Bye (9-10:30am): at Schooner or Later
- Sip & Stroll & So Long (11am-1:30pm): For those stubborn hangers-on, we will go across the street to stroll around the ponds and fountains at the Long Beach Marketplace
