Hosted in coastal Long Beach, CA we wil travel to whatever neighboring cities the big top takes us in order to partake of the finest (and safest) circus arts classes available, culminating in a a performance of Cirque du Soleil's new show IRIS at the Kodak Theater in L.A.

The Night Before (7-10pm): Bienvenue! If you are able to swing into town the evening before, please join us onsite for corn popping, cotton candy & caramel apple making, and a light circus-family style meal including whimsical theme fare, plus a variety of tasty sandwiches catered by Circus Sandwich Shop -- rounding off with a DVD viewing of Cirque du Soleil's Midnight Sun performance
Session Pre-requisite: ability to participate in barefoot lyrical dance and engage in circus arts per each facility's terms. Packing list: Practice & performance apparel, evening out attire & overnight items
DAY #1
- 8-9am - le Petit Dejeuner - Breakfast for our overnight performers
- 9-10:45am - Cirque introduction, terminology and history
- 10-:45-11am - Ground travel
- 11-12:30 Aerial arts class*
- 12:30-2pm - Lunch Break
- 2-4pm - Feet on the Ground Circus Class: learn a light and lyrical routine using simple circus props, to be performed this evening
- 4-5pm - Chapiteau Chapeau hat craft & tea
- 5-6:30pm - Cirque routine practice
- 6:30-7:30pm - Dinner
- 7:30-9pm - Personal time, performance preparation. Professional face painting/makeup & hair available from 7:30-8:30pm. Professional photography available at 8pm
- 9-9:30pm - Performance (videotaped)
"*Don’t get intimidated by the apparatus. Our students range from Kids (5 years old) to Seniors (70 years old), are of different physical background, body shape and fitness level (these including those who have not had any fitness activity in a while). The class starts of with warm up exercises, flexibility & core exercises followed by ground movement for coordination and finishing up with combined aerial apparatus exercises and trick combination. The apparatus are TISSU/SILKS, HOOPS & HAMMOCKS. Aerial moves are customized based on your response. Depending on the teachers assessment of the student's skill level, one gets the option to focus on a single or multiple apparatus. This class is highly recommended for those who want a different approach in their exercise regimen coupled with the discovery or development of one's creative and artistic skills." ~Ruby Karen

- 8:30/9 - After hours gab & grub at the Renaissance Twist
The Morning After 8-11am
- 8-9am - Breakfast for our overnight trapeze artists
- 9-10am - Cirque Yoga class
- 10-11am - Time to tear down the big top and pack up
- 11am - Cirque send-off - we finally bid the last of our roustabouts a bientot
